Flavia Padovani

I am an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Drexel University, Philadelphia, where I am also a member of the faculty of Drexel’s Center for Science, Technology, and Society. I earned my PhD in Philosophy at the University of Geneva in 2008 and I have held postdoctoral and visiting positions in various international institutions.

I am currently the President of the International Society for the History of Philosophy of Science (HOPOS).

My research is in the history and philosophy of science, focusing on how scientific knowledge is developed, understood, and put into practice. I am particularly interested in the relationship between scientific theories, conceptual frameworks, and empirical practices, and how these relationships evolve over time.
